Spring Birding at Berlin Pond (South)
May 20, 2022 @ 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Friday May 20 | 7 – 9 AM | FREE
Berlin Pond Road SOUTH End
Sponsored by Onion River Outdoors
A casual morning of birding for all interests and experience levels facilitated by NBNC staff and guest leaders. These outings are about enjoying, learning about, and spending time with wild birds. No binoculars? No ID guide? No problem! The only requirement is an appreciation of birds (though we do have binoculars for those who would like them). This outing explores an important parcel that the Berlin Conservation Commission is working hard to purchase and conserve. Learn how birding and land conservation intersect here in Central VT.
Distance: This outing will cover between 0.5 and 1 mile.
Terrain and surface: Much of the outing will be along Mirror Lake Road, a well-maintained dirt road that is flat near the pond, but grades uphill >10% to the west. The outing may or may not leave the road and venture off-trail in the woods near the pond into uneven, potentially muddy ground. Please let us know ahead of the program how we can better accommodate your accessibility needs.
May 6 – NBNC
May 13 – Waterbury Reservoir Dam
May 20 – Berlin Pond (South)
May 27 – NBNC with Bridget Butler
June 3 – North Branch Cascades (North)
Our Shared Commitment
Take care of yourself. Take care of others. Take care of the earth.
We strive to help people feel welcomed, oriented to the landscape, engaged, inspired, safe, and part of our community. We ask that our visitors and participants share this commitment while at North Branch Nature Center and during our programs. We expect that all who enter this shared space do so in the spirit of welcoming kindness, inclusivity, respect, and curiosity.
Thanks to Onion River Outdoors for sponsoring our 2022 spring birding series!
