Many mushrooms and lichens can be used to make paints in a spectrum of earthy reds, oranges, and browns, while plants round out the spectrum with blues and purples. Rachel Mirus will demonstrate a few paint-making processes for both plants and fungi, and introduce some reliable sources, from repurposing teas and spices to foraging for local mushrooms. Then together we’ll experiment with making our own art from a selection of pre-made and fresh colors.
