Monthly Birding Outing (Berlin Pond)
October 5 @ 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM
First Saturday of the month | 8 – 9:30 AM | FREE
Locations may vary | Berlin Pond – Meet at parking access at north end of pond
No Registration Required | Cancelled in the event of very cold temperatures or severe weather.
A casual morning of birding for all interests and experience levels facilitated by NBNC staff and guest leaders. These new monthly gatherings take place at various locations around the Montpelier area, and are about spending time enjoying our resident wild birds. No binoculars? No problem! The only requirement is an appreciation of birds (though we do have binoculars for those who would like them). No experience necessary.
Distance: This outing covers between 0.5 and 1 mile.
Terrain and surface: The outing will be along Brookfield Road and Mirror Lake Road, well-maintained dirt roads that are flat near the pond, but grade uphill >10% to the west. Please let us know ahead of the program if we can better accommodate your accessibility needs.
Our Shared Commitment
Take care of yourself. Take care of others. Take care of the earth.
We strive to help people feel welcomed, oriented to the landscape, engaged, inspired, safe, and part of our community. We ask that our visitors and participants share this commitment while at North Branch Nature Center and during our programs. We expect that all who enter this shared space do so in the spirit of welcoming kindness, inclusivity, respect, and curiosity.
