NBNC is the place to be after class!
Afterschool “Treksplorers” at NBNC brings children into the wild to employ a model of playful experiential education where children learn by activating all of their senses and building a sense of belonging in a community of their peers. Adventures may include tracking, foraging, cooking over a fire, storytelling, cooperative games, or expeditions into the forest. Activities are chosen to be appropriate to the ages and interests of the students.
2026 Winter/Spring Afterschool Session
Tuesdays, 3:00 – 5:30 pm | March 10 – June 2 | 12 weeks (No session April 21)
Cost: $540 | Financial Support Available (don’t hesitate to request support. We work hard to ensure that finances are not a barrier to youth nature connection)
Families may enroll in a prorated partial season if space is available.

Cancellation Policies
- If requested two weeks or more before the first day of programming, you will receive a full refund.
- If requested between one and two weeks before the first day of programming, you will receive a 50% refund.
- If requested one week or less before the first day of programming, we will be unable to issue a refund.
In the case of extreme weather, we may need to cancel a session. If local area public schools have cancelled for the day, it is a good chance we will too. We will notify you by email. In the case of a cancellation, we will schedule a make-up day. If for some reason your child cannot attend a session, we cannot reimburse you for that missed day. NBNC reserves the right to cancel a program due to COVID-19 safety considerations.
