Join Michale Glennon, organizer of the Wool and Water Project currently on view in the NBNC gallery, for a fun, hands-on workshop on translating watershed data into art. Participants will use felt balls to visually represent data from the lake while learning about the Lake Champlain watershed. Participants will work collaboratively on a large project that will be displayed at NBNC for the rest of the Wool and Water show, then create a small individual project to take home. No previous experience or knowledge required! All materials are provided.
Wool and Water blends fiber art with science to visually represent changing water quality conditions in the Adirondacks and Lake Champlain and provide inspiration to protect our waterways. Learn more about the project and the science behind it at the gallery talk and reception the night before the workshop or on the Wool and Water website.
This is an all levels workshop for ages 14 and up. Experienced knitters and crocheters who want to take a deeper dive into how to translate data into fiber arts should check out Michale’s Data Art for Yarn Lovers workshop happening earlier the same day.
