Floodplains & Watersheds Field Workshop
November 11, 2023 @ 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Floodplain Encounter – A Field Outing & Workshop at NBNC
Saturday, November 11 | 10 to noon
FREE | RSVP Requested
Join river and floodplain expert Ned Swanberg on an exploration of the (usually) hidden expressions of the North Branch River on this fall walk here at NBNC. How does our rain and river shape the valley? Why and where does it flood? How does flooding support clean water and build soil in the watershed? Why are functional floodplains important to the safety and wellbeing of our neighbors? We will look at riverside soils, plants, and other signs to discern the shapes and power of water in our lives. RSVP Here
