Join us on a spring bird outing at NBNC! This outing, led by Bex Waterman (she/her) and Catherine Griset (she/her), is reserved for folks who identify as Queer and who are interested in birding with a welcoming community. We’ll spend about 2 hours in the fields and forests along the North Branch River. We’ll bird our way along the generally flat perimeter of NBNC’s trails before crossing the bridge and exploring the habitats of North Branch River Park. 

Our route travels between 1/2 and 1 mile, and will have minimal elevation gain overall, with some small ups and downs along the dirt/grass trail. There are a few benches for resting along the way through the field (none past the bridge). Restrooms are available at the Nature Center building where we will start and end our time. Please let us know ahead of the program how we can better accommodate your accessibility needs.

In addition to familiar favorites like Black-capped Chickadees, Song Sparrows, and our resident Common Ravens, we hope to observe returning Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, Broad-winged Hawks, and of course several varieties of songbirds such as Chestnut-sided Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler, and Indigo Bunting.
