VHCB AmeriCorps Environmental Educator
Contact Griffin

Griffin Cummings grew up surrounded by boats and dogs on the shore of Long Island Sound in Connecticut, where he grew to love the ocean and its critters. While he originally wanted to be a pirate or a paleontologist, Griffin chose to study Environmental Policy at Champlain College in Burlington, VT instead. He spent his summers during college working for the Winooski Valley Parks District and his winters supervising lift operations at Bolton Valley ski area.

Griffin has a deep love of people, culture, food, music, and all of the messy things that make us human. If he can improve someone’s day even slightly he considers it a day well spent. He also loves to travel and has been to nine countries, including Cuba and Nepal. His most recent adventure was a cross country road trip of the western United States with his partner, Maggie.

Griffin likes to live simply, love deeply, and learn continuously. While he is still early in his career as an environmentalist and educator, he has the support of his loved ones and that is what matters most to him.
