A casual morning of spring birding for all interests and experience levels facilitated by NBNC staff and guest leaders. These outings are about enjoying, learning about, and spending time with wild birds. No binoculars? No ID guide? No problem! The only requirement is an appreciation of birds (though we do have binoculars for those who would like them).
Spring 2026 Friday Morning Birding Series Locations:
- May 1 – North Branch Nature Center (Location)
- May 8 – Berlin Pond – South End –Park along Mirror Lake Road (Location)
- May 15 – Catamount Community Forest – Williston (Location)
- May 22 – Sodom Pond – Park at Sodom Pond Rd/Adamant Rd intersection (Location)
- May 29 – Pratt Refuge – 2139 Ward Hill Road, Duxbury (Location) (About the Refuge)
Terrain and surface: NBNC and Catamount: The trails are 6’-wide grass paths over compacted dirt. The trails are flat with <5% cross-grade. Section of the trail have up to a 10% grade over a 100 ft distance (NBNC) or 100 yard distance (Catamount). There are several benches along the route at NBNC. Sodom Pond and Berlin Pond: The route is on flat dirt and gravel roads shared by rural traffic. Pratt Refuge: The route is on gentle grassy trails, with uneven grades, width, cross-slope, and terrain. Please let us know ahead of the program how we can better accommodate your accessibility needs.
