North Branch Nature Center has a rich history of leading world-class expeditions to the planet's wildest destinations. In 2019, join NBNC on life-changing adventures to Ecuador,Costa Rica, and Yellowstone.
Whether it's macaws in the rainforest or grizzlies in the mountains, witness nature's most enchanting faces and places with NBNC.
“The best part? Seeing the magnificent country… Smelling the sagebrush and stinky paint pots, tasting the huckleberries, feeling sticky pine resin and slick petrified wood, watching weather pile in over the mountains, and Greater Sage Grouse dancing on their leks... savoring the grandeur and the silence, and learning from a seasoned naturalist how it all fits together.”
--Judy Brook, NBNC Yellowstone participant

About your Guides

North Branch Nature Center has been offering natural history adventure trips for over 20 years. Since 1996, Executive Director and expert birder Chip Darmstadt has guided NBNC excursions to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Spain, Ecuador, as well as stateside locations like Magee Marsh and Monhegan Island. The neotropics are Chip’s favorite destinations, where he can share with travelers Skulky Antpittas, swarms of hummingbirds, and veritable rainbows of tanagers.
Staff Naturalist Sean Beckett joined the NBNC team in 2017 after years of guiding wildlife and nature excursions across North America. When he's not leading natural history programs right here at North Branch or across the Northeast, Sean brings travelers to bison herds in Yellowstone, the threshold of wolf dens in Grand Teton National Park, the chasms of radiant canyons in the desert southwest, and the kingdom of polar bears along the shores of the Hudson Bay.
