Foraging Club

Learn and celebrate wild edibles together

Foraging is a fun way to connect to the wild landscape with all our senses.

At NBNC, we work to make foraging accessible as form of connection to nature. We have stewarded the land for the benefit of wildlife and food, and are delighted to share knowledge about and celebrate a wild array of flavors from favorites like ramps and fiddleheads to remarkable native flavors from amaretto to vanilla.

Foraging is stewardship — we take a gardener’s mindset and work diligently to help edible, rare, and wildlife-friendly plants thrive. Join us to learn about plant life cycles and how to propagate them in your woods, but please refrain from harvesting leaves or stems outside of our programs.

NBNC hosts monthly foraging outings throughout the growing season. Harvest windows for some of these foods can be remarkably brief, so sign up for our Newsletter for the latest as we watch for trees to flower, rain to fall, and leaves to sprout.
