“Unnatural History” Invasive Plants Walk at the Barre City Cow Pasture
May 4 @ 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM$10
Celebrate Green-up Day with naturalist Ken Benton for a walk in the Barre City Cow Pasture, a hidden gem within walking distance of downtown Barre. Learn about the property’s unique history, invasive plants, and the ongoing efforts to manage and improve the quality of habitat found in this 67-acre parcel of open space in an otherwise highly developed city. After the walk, help clean up trash and remove invasive plants with other volunteers. This walk is free for anyone who stays for the Green Up Day stewardship activities afterwards. Meet at the Cow Pasture entrance at the end of Maplewood Avenue at 8 am.
Walk goes 8 – 9 am. Green Up Day volunteer work runs 9 – noon.
Fee: $10 at the door, or free if you participate in the Green Up Day activities after the walk.
