Superbowl of Birding XVI – Youth Overnight
January 18, 2019 @ 4:00 PM - January 19, 2019 @ 9:00 PM$150
Winter’s premier birding competition is back! In this 12-hour race to identify as many species as possible, we’ll scour the coastlines of New Hampshire and Massachusetts searching for rare birds like Razorbill, King Eider, and Snowy Owl.
This competition, hosted by Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flatts Education Center, ranks species based on difficulty and assigns points accordingly (i.e. one point for a chickadee and five points for an albatross). Past NBNC’s youth and young adult teams have tallied nearly 100 species in this winter adventure. Beginner birdwatchers and naturalists welcome. Join our NBNC youth and teen birding team!
Trip leaves from NBNC at 4:00 PM on Friday and returns late on Saturday night. Price includes all lodging, transportation, and registration fees. Led by NBNC teachers/naturalists Ken Benton and Zac Cota.
