Program for 9th-12th graders
Learn the basics of how to process wood from log to billet, lay out your pattern, practice safe knife carving techniques, and efficiently remove all wood that doesn’t want to be a spoon. By the end of the day you’ll come away with a nearly finished spoon, butter knife, or other wooden utensil with a built in story to tell friends while serving food.
Participants are welcome (but not required) to bring their own knives. This session will be outdoors. Come dressed for the weather.
Led by Ken Benton and Annie Jackson.
Open to 9th-12th graders. Also check out our 3/28 Teen Sugaring and Woodcraft, and TBD Teen skills workshop in April.
