Sea Turtle Conservation Presentation by Elliot Burg
November 6 @ 6:00 PM - 7:00 PMFree
For the past 15 years, Javier Mayo Huerta and Lucy Carmona Liborio have been working to protect sea turtles on the Pacific coast of their native Mexico. Patrolling a 13-mile stretch of beach at night, they ward off poachers who dig up turtle eggs for sale on the black market, transport the eggs to a protected enclosure by their beachside home, safeguard the eggs until they hatch, and then escort the babies to the ocean where they will do their best to survive. Middlesex freelance photographer Elliot Burg has documented Javier and Lucy’s extraordinary work and looks forward to sharing his images and experience in this evening travelogue and slideshow.
