NBNC is part of a national network of scientists working to better understand the migration of the Northern Saw-whet Owl, a common yet elusive member of our Vermont forests. Join NBNC biologists as they capture, tag, and release these pint-sized owls. After the birds are released, NBNC naturalists and educators will discuss the highlights of recent research at NBNC and across the country, then share what’s been discovered about this mysterious little predator. Open to all ages.
Demonstrations 7:30 – 9 pm on October 9, 10, 16, 24, and 25.
Demonstration will be cancelled in the event of rain or very high winds. We will notify you via email about cancellations and rain dates.
While odds are good of catching these wild owls, there are no guarantees.
Participants are welcome to stay later in the event that no owls are captured by 9 pm.
Registration opens September 9
