A casual, slow, naturalist-led evening paddle around Curtis Pond in Calais. Once on the water, we’ll head slowly north across this quiet pond, enjoying beavers, fish, botany, birdlife, and whatever other flora and fauna we come across before returning to the boat launch near sunset.
Physical Requirements: This paddle covers 2 miles of shoreline. The entire route is flatwater with no current. The pond may experience light winds, but we will cancel the program in the event of winds strong enough to make paddling challenging or dangerous. Participants should be comfortable paddling their watercraft without instruction, or share a boat with someone in the party who is. Participants should be comfortable entering and exiting their watercraft without assistance.
