Join retired archaeologist Mark Martin and naturalist Ken Benton as we explore the history of the Barre City Cow Pasture. We’ll walk a 1.5 mile loop trail through the property, as we examine stone walls, gaze into stone lined springs, and observe remnants of historical agricultural and recreational use. Meet us at the Maplewood Avenue trailhead and parking area.
Accessibility:
This walk covers 1.5 miles on wide grassy and muddy paths. The path is regularly intersected by roots, rocks, and small creeks. Elevation gain is roughly 200 ft, and mostly gradual, except for a few 100-200 ft steep sections.
