Caterpillars take over the Nature Center! The Caterpillar Lab is a traveling world-class education organization that transforms nature centers into a spectacular living museum, zoo, research laboratory, incubator, circus, art studio, classroom, and all-around nature party. Journey into the incredible world of New England’s native caterpillars and their habitats. This hands-on, over-the-top exhibition features open-air displays where you’ll witness rare moments of metamorphosis, mimicry, symbiosis, birth, death, deception, and wonder in a program unlike anything else.

Photograph the caterpillars, observe countless species, open up cocoons with staff, hold a huge Hickory Horned Devil, meet enormous Giant Silk Moths, watch fierce-looking snake-impersonators, discover camouflaged twig-mimics, and even gawk at bizarre legless slug caterpillars. There is something for everyone from young children to seasoned biologists. If you are wondering if this exhibit is appropriate for you, the answer is YES — choose your own caterpillar adventure!

How Tickets Work: We are using a timed ticketing system to help manage smooth visitor flow throughout each day. Tickets are for a specific entry time into the exhibits. There is no specific exit time for your visit, so please stay as long as you wish. Visitors typically spend about an hour and a half in the exhibits. Thanks, and enjoy!
