Birding in Spain (Full)
November 8 - November 18$3650
Join us for an extraordinary 11-day birding tour of Spain! Led by Chip Darmstadt, in conjunction with Birdwatching Spain. We’ll explore the many birding hotspots of eastern and central Spain, including Albufera de Valencia Natural Park, the Alicante Mountains, Sierra de Guara and much more. The list of birds we may encounter is exciting indeed – globally threatened White-headed Ducks, the stunning Wallcreeper, bluethroats, bustards and sandgrouse, thousands of wintering Common Cranes, and raptors galore – Lammergeier, Red Kite and several species of eagle. And, of course, we’ll delight in the culture, food, and architecture including the impressive medieval town of Alquézar, built around a stunning eighth-century Moorish fort.
