"This program has been life changing for my son. He gets to explore nature and get in the dirt, which he loves, but also develop group social skills (taking turns, quiet in circle time, collaborative play)” - FPS Parent
When parents and caregivers arrive at the end of a Forest Preschool morning for pick-up, they are often met by happily dirty children – children who have been making sense of their world by delightfully following their curiosity in natural spaces using eager hands, wide eyes, and listening ears.
Forest Preschool is modeled around German Waldkindergartens where children spend all of their time outdoors. Through play and nature immersion, youngsters in our program have the opportunity to develop a caring relationship with one another and the natural world, all the while using their whole body to learn with joy, excitement, and a sense of wonder. The soil in the forest and fields is rich, growing endless wonder-filled possibilities in a classroom without walls. Forest Preschool provides an outdoor learning experience where young children may connect with these possibilities and thrive in the early years.
